Swimming Hole

The rough graded irrigation pond will eventually be lined with pond liner and supply water to underground greenhouses (walipinis) during the winter when the irrigation water is turned off. Would not be surprised if someone doesn’t “accidently” fall into the pond on a hot summer day.

“Dumpy” New Dishes

Got up early and dragged the chain-link fence around the front of my house and into the walipini area with my car. I had to accomplish this task while the ground was still frozen to avoid getting stuck. Interesting day. I hauled four loads of concrete to the dump in my utility trailer. Part of the time I would be chipping up the pieces of concrete which had frozen to the ground and, later in the day, I would be sliding around on slushy ground trying to avoid getting stuck! On thing for sure: I got plenty of exercise today.

I met a man at the he dump whose wife had insisted that he discard a couple of boxes of stoneware dishes. I happily took them off his hands before they got dashed on the ground. Another fellow was throwing a couple of glass windows away, which will make good glazing for some temporary grow boxes. I snapped them up as well. You see, I don’t have a wife to tell me I can’t bring things home from the dump so I do.

I showered and went to a church meeting tonight but left early because I couldn’t hear very well and couldn’t stay awake after my arduous day. So, when they asked the congregation to stand up for a rest break, I arose, then kept on trucking right out the door.

Walipini Research

Researched sun altitude and azimuth angles at a local architect’s home today.  I need this information so I can design my walipinis (underground greenhouses) correctly for 39 degrees 28 minutes north latitude.
